I attended my first CYA conference in 2019, following advice from members of my writing group, Write Links. I’d only recently started writing and I wasn’t sure if I was ready to attend a writing conference… but I am so glad I did!

Sandhya Parappukkaran
- I love mangoes – green ones! Dipped in salt and chilli powder.
- My first language – Malayalam. This word is a pallindrome!
- Sandhya (Sun – dh-ya [h is silent, dh is a soft d sound not a sharp d, ya as in yahoo!]) means dusk. Parappukkaran is pronounced Para-pu:-ka:-ren.
- I visit the library once a week.
- Galahs are my favourite bird. You can see them around Brisbane.
